The International Press Institute (IPI) had selected to host its 2014 World Congress in Cape Town, South Africa.
Over the past 20 years, the world has seen dramatic changes in the media across the globe, including South Africa - a country that transitioned from a brutal apartheid regime to a thriving, open, multi-racial, democratic society. As one of the oldest press freedom organisations in the world to witness both historical transformations - IPI wanted to return to South Africa to create a conference with maximum impact.
IPI and the local host – Print and Digital Media SA, engaged MCI as a strategic event partner to help make this happen.
While IPI focused on developing a content rich programme, MCI developed and delivered a number of seamless event solutions, from state-of-the-art technical services to a comprehensive registration system and local marketing assistance.
MCI supported programme development with creative solutions to enhance the impact of content, and organised social functions to treat attendees to Cape Town’s finest cuisine, wine and entertainment, working alongside the local committee to ensure that the event made a positive impact and left a lasting memory for congress delegates.
